2. Prepping For Surgery
My philosophy in life has always been “Don’t Borrow Trouble” and it is in situations like these where it is most useful. I don’t really worry about the “what-ifs” in life. When you make a good plan, you need to have faith in the plan and just move forward with it. Over-thinking has never helped anyone.
After selecting my colorectal surgeon, fixing a surgery date and getting my will done, I had about 2 weeks of free time. I decided to enjoy my life to the fullest. No one has given me a death sentence and I am not about to give myself one.
So…this is what I did for 2 weeks :)
Accidentally ordering ume plums and had to make umeshu and ume honey 😄
Living My Life
Personal Training 2x a week - I continued with my trainings because I wanted my body to be as strong as it possibly can be prior to surgery. My last training was the day before my hospitalization.
10,000 steps a day - I was already doing this so I didn’t see a reason to stop.
Going to Work - My team already knew by this time but there were still things to clear. It was stressfree and it stops mindless wandering of an over-active free mind. I stopped worked 3 days before hospitalization.
Omakases 2x a week :) - This became one of the best decisions of my life! I knew that I probably couldn’t eat sashimi for at least 6 months so I decided to eat as much as I can in 2 weeks. Someone asked me - aren’t you worried? Err…..there’s already a tumor growing inside me? It’s been there maybe 10 years? What else is there to worry about? LOL.
Korean Hair Spa and Facial - Even if I am going into surgery, I still need to be 美美的. :D But, you may lose hair. SO??? I just want to do what makes me feel good.
It was a very fruitful and happy 2 weeks. :D
